Stephanie, Working (2006)

The artist envisioned a quiet yet disheveled interior, mocking the ambitions and worldly intentions of this good-natured beauty. The notion of contained spaces is further mocked by the grass-textured walls and open background. The monitor seems to be the only true vista, further extending the irony of corporate life. While she doles away the day in the service of her machine, the far-off places of the Internet soothe her and remind her of the value quiet inner-peace. Finally, her quixotic smile beams as she catches something exquisite in one of her daily sojourns onto the Ethernet.
